of teething.
Yup. Julians very first tooth has begun to poke through. It is just a thin white line on his lower gum, but its there. Time for chilled teething rings, and cold wet wash cloths. Unfortunately, I have to work tonight, which means B gets saddled with the crankiness all by his lonesome for a few hours. Poor guy. I really wanted to be here all day to help out. Stupid work. I was trying to get it covered, but that doesn't look like it is happening.
So yeah. If suddenly I am having to ghost a lot in Camp or on Messengers, that is why.
Yay teething!

Yay!! teething means on our way to messy crackers and stuff!! LOL
*gives Bubby a kiss, wipes away the drool and hugs him up*

Let the whiskey go. I'm not using whiskey.
-
be thankful no one has suggested rum............ ::) ::)
infant tylenol....that was the saving grace with my herd~nods~
-
RUM IS GOOD!
-
A frozen banana works great, plus he will like it also & is good for him.
-
infant tylenol. teeth rings without the little nubbies on them.. frozen wash clothes... chilled not frozen banannas. and baby oragel... tube in the diaper bag... purse..... in fact it doesn't hurt to buy that in bulk....

No, the rum is mine. It's for numbing me.

No orajel...The boy's Dad is allergic to novacaine, dont want to test those waters and find out if he is allergic too.
-
well... *blink* my Grandma (the evil good one) used to wait till the tooth was totally about to break through and then freeze a spoon and then use it to push hard against the gum and cut the tooth through.. of course this involves much screaming and lamentations by the baby, not to mention that he won't trust you for a while.... but, it got the tooth through..
*cringes because crying babies make me sad*
-
ouch...that hurts me even thinking about having to break the skin with a spoon...
maybe when its teething time i will just send her to amber's house to handle the teething since they will have had enough experience with it by the time she starts ... ;D
-
we'll trade Lana... by the time my darlin Lil Erin starts teething..Julian will be hell on wheels crawling and learning to walk..so he can wreck you guys' house and I will soothe a crying teething baby. Yup that works for me.
-
Then you are exactly correct Terran... no trying the oragel on the kiddo else we have a trip that is not a good one..... I don't have the allergy.. it just doesn't work on me... they don't know why.... it just doesn't.....then lots of cold stuff.... lots and lots of cold stuff.

when kymlet was teething, we lived on popsicles (they have mini ones now that are just the right size), teething rings, and yes, frozen bananas. I would slice them up first, then freeze em. They have these nifty little things now that are like a nook, but it's a mesh bag instead of the nook part... still has the handle tho. Anyway, you put those frozen bananas, ice cream, whatever you want really, into that mesh bag and let the baby suck nd chew and chomp away. I learned frozen peaches won't disintegrate, so kymlet didn't enjoy those so much. but frozen bananas were awesome!! HUGE mess, but so worth it. And yes, I did do the whiskey trick a couple times, because my child decided to have EIGHT teeth break at once. You want to talk about a not happy baby... eeps!
-
I...am one cranky Momma. -sighs- I don't know if it was the teething..or just being a five month old...but it took me 2 1/2 hours to figure out something to keep the kid from crying. He didn't want to sleep..he didn't want to watch t.v., he didn't want to cuddle, the orajel (he's not allergic) wasn't working..he was just inconsolable.. the solution? Put him in his vibrating bouncy seat, and let him play. -blinks- He hasn't been in his bouncy seat in MONTHS and all of a sudden, it's the greatest thing on the planet to him. Very weird.
-
Hmmmmm i think Terran Took Gran Poppas advice and slipped him some whisky.... I figure teach the kid early,
Duck Hides and runs for the hills to become a hermit and hide
-
Nah. B was trying to take a nap..that's why I was in charge of making the baby stop crying.
-
another good thing.. ** yep checked this with the doc**.. doggie biskets.. like milk bones.. or raw hide chews.. or leather pieces.. or if you are able them some fruit chews.. that you have dehadrated either by you or someone you trust...
-
-bumps with a hip...and just groooooans- My kid can't do anything easy can he? Not only does he want to come out of the womb backwards instead of head first..but he can't just cut ONE tooth.. he has to cut TWO. Yes. Another one has made its presence known. The second bottom front tooth. For crying out loud, the poor child was cranky with one poking through..but now? Now his bottom gums gotta be killing him. Cripes. I wish he was older so he could actually hold on to his teething rings before throwing them away from him. They are practically useless. Mhurr.
-
take the frozened wet cloth and wrap your finger a little, rub his gums while you let him bite, suck, gnaw on your finger.. the one wrapped in the cold cloth.. he can't throw it away, only you can..
*hugs up my little bubby and bunny snuffles his ear*
