Hug your Grammy aka God had a busy day today
« on: February 24, 2013, 05:53:57 PM »
I would like to take this moment to say to my Grammy, and my Mom, and to all the Grandparents out there who DO KNOW where their grandchildren are, a big THANK YOU. My most disturbing moment today was a little 4 year old boy.  He was brought in by a concerned citizen because he was playing in the middle of an intersection in his pjs.

Oh yes, he was a handful.. He was a little mach 7 hair on fire pistol who made me tired just watching him.

I know how my Mom must have felt and my Grammys must have felt when I was little and when my kid was little. I also have to thank a little boy I knew 20 years ago. Back then, I worked in a bar, and the cleaning lady had a son named Cole who would come to work with her sometimes. Cole told me once that I should always keep a matchbox car in my purse because ya never know when a little boy might need to play with one. But, back to my day...

We had already found out his name.. and that he liked SpongeBob... and that he would stop running up and down the stairs if I let him play with the toys I have in my locker. (Thank you Lord for sending me Cole so many years ago, and thank him that I am addicted to Happy Meals). My Sargeant had already taken all the information that the woman who picked him up and brought him to the station could give. He had already contacted Childrens Services. My little buddy had been in our custody for at least 5 minutes by then.. not to mention his outside adventure time...
The phone rang. It was the grandmother. "I think my grandson got out of the house without me knowing it."
~*~*~*~*~
You think? (Incredulous look)
As my Poppa used to say.. What HELL!?! Pay attention!!

Yes and the grandson was playing in the middle of an intersection 3 blocks north PLUS 3 blocks west of his Gramma's house when he was asked to get into a nice lady's car, which he did without hesitation, and she drove him to meet the policemen.
What if she hadn't been a nice lady? What if it had been a pervert, or kidnapper, or crazy person? What if he had been run over, killed, crippled for life? What if the grandmother never got another chance to hug and squeeze and love and cuddle that little 4 year old boy because she took her eyes off of him for more than "Just a minute".

He had to traverse 3 diagonal blocks, get noticed in the intersection, brought in, run amuck through the halls and play with my toys... even for a mach 7 hair on fire pistol, that is at LEAST more than " just a minute".

He got to ride in a pweece car back to his father. He sent my toys back with Sargeant. God had a busy day keeping track of that little one.

Very disturbing.. to me.. disturbing..So many things could have gone so badly differently..so many scenarios have gone through my mind... God surely had a busy day today.

-sighs and smiles softly and huggles you tightly- Thank God there are good people in this world that happen to care what happens to a little 4 year old boy who was apparently somewhere he shouldn't have been and that she was where she was meant to be in that exact moment in time. Thank you to not only her, but to you, your Sargent as most importantly for Cole who made sure you were prepared for such a time in the future for something like this. Thank you to all of you, for I am sure that little 4 year old boy will remember this day for a long time. -smiles warmly-
