It is dangerous when I start thinking...

The fires... they need fuel to burn. Obviously they have plenty. They need O2 etc. It seems the first step to putting the fires out is to stop the spread. Get fire breaks. Contain the fires, and then combat them or let them burn out. Now this is the strange abstract idea on my part, but not unheard of.

BOMBING. Precision bombing to cut paths through the forest to get firebreaks started. That would possibly help contain the fires to ground-fires at least. There was a time nitro was used to blast paths and literally blow out fires. We have much better ordinance these days than that. Cut the paths, then follow with aerial water dumps. That may help. I would think it would be easier to restore and properly manage these areas later than all the additional damage caused by the fires raging as they are.

Has anything else worked? Our military has huge stockpiles of old ordinance to expend anyway. Use it for a good purpose. Our military can practice, even ground artillery. Is it worth a shot? No pun intended.

Global Warming and Climate Change

When I was a kid, we called these things Spring, Summer, Fall, and Winter. No two were identical. Some better, some worse than others. You took it in stride and dealt with it.
