OK, so my life has been a whirlwind lately. *chuckles* I have been able to get online more, as some of you have noticed.. YAY!!! *laffs*
Here's what's been goin on... we painted our living room. But, since it's a small house, we had to remove everything from one wall, fix the settling cracks (the house was built in 1950...there's just a FEW settling cracks!!!), prime that wall, paint that wall, do any touchups to that wall, remove all the painters tape, put all the stuff BACK against that wall, and then move onto the next wall and repeat. We finished last night. *chuckles* It took us awhile what with the kiddo needing attention at inopportune times. So now, we're getting the living room back in order and cleaned up. Oh... by the way.. our living room is blue now.. a lovely shade that's close to sky blue, but not so intense. Surprisingly, Hubby picked it out!
Kym had her 6month checkup and boosters on tuesday. She of course screamed all the way thru the THREE boosters. She's officially 17lbs 6oz, which puts her in the 75% for weight. Now, here's the scary part. She came in at 28 inches... which is 2'4"... which is OFF THE CHART for height. She's a taaaalllll girl. *chuckles* Hubby's hoping she'll grow up lookin like Leila Ali.
On thursday, we got to go out TOGETHER, without the kiddo, for the first time! Kym went to our friend's place for the afternoon, and we went and saw Ghost Rider. Awesome movie, loved it! Just not happy about the remake of the closing song. Should have kept Johnny Cash's version. *nods emphatically*
Now, we come to the fun stuff... we are in the mad panic of house cleaning because my folks are showing up around thursdayish and staying for a week. So, I won't be around while they're here. We have a few things planned to do while they're here, and we're planning on BBQing... and yes, you southerners, I mean BBQing. We bought a barrel grill with a side firebox this spring, so we'll be doing TONS of smoking and stuffs... VERY yummy. We've already done a roast and a whole chicken. We have a brisket and a pork boston butt roast planned for while the folks are here. THis is the first time they'll have seen the kiddo, so this should be fun.
So anyway, that's what's been up with us. On top of that, I've managed to pull a muscle in my shoulder blade so housecleaning has not been enjoyable.
