I'd make it so my munchkin never learned to walk. *laffs* Yep, she started walking July 21st, and she's got it fairly perfected. her main problem is she doesn't look where she's walking, and so steps on one of her toys, loses her balance, and topples. *chuckles* I'm assuming she'll learn on that one, in the mean time tho, we have tons of bruises, and fat lips. At the moment she's got a gorgeous shiner under one eye!
Let's see, I haven't really posted what's been going on in my life for awhile. Roy came home less than a week before the Gathering, so I got to go to that. Since then, we've been doing a lot of the family thing. Of course, we had the major issues. The SUV, which I paid 800 bucks a few weeks before he came home to get a solenoid replaced, broke down again. THIS time, the whole Torque converter ummm.. disintegrated. We took it to a different place and basically said, "did ANYTHING they do cause this to happen?" Unfortunately the answer was no.The guy at the shop was disappointed about that since he didn't like the shop I went to last time. Anyway, 2 grand later, we have a totally reworked transmission (the case was still good, just the insides needed replacing) with a warranty and everything. It's an old SUV with a lot of mileage.. guy said it was just due.
So, we're recovering from that, and literally a week and a half later, during the LUVERLY heat wave we've been having, the AC on the house dies. totally. Not good. So, call in a guy. compressor never got hooked up right when we got the furnace installed. *mutters* Compressor has to be replaced, BUT, since we haven't paid for a Trane person to come do maintenance on it every year (stupid rule, even dad, who used to do refrigeration work says this is a stupid new rule), the warranty is NULL AND VOID. ARGH! So... 1800 for a new compressor, and the unit STILL won't be under warranty, or 2300 for a whole new unit, which WILL be under warranty (as long as we get annual maintenance). Gee, guess which one we went for. Soooo... this was tuesday. Thursday they installed a new AC. By the time they finished, the house was 88 degrees. Not good for mommies OR kidlets. Took 2 days to get the house back down to normal because it had to suck out all the humidity too.
So, yeah. fun summer. Good side, kidlet has a pool so we do lots of splashing around in that to get cool. The tree in our front yard loves it because it gets all the water when Kym's done in the pool. Since Roy has been home, and that's about a month and a half... we have had MAYbe an inch of rain. Our lawn is dead. totally dead. Add to that 95+ temps and Soooo not a fun summer. The dogs rarely come out of the crawl space anymore. So yeah.. the tree loves it when Kym gets to play in the pool. Poor tree is already losing leaves!
The good things tho... Roy got a new MP3 player that also has a large screen on it to show off pics of the kidlet. I got a new graphics card.. yay! ATI Radeon x1650 Pro. It was on half price at Best Buy. *grin* AND we rediscovered Panera Bread's bagels. OMG!! If you live near one, you have GOT to try their Assiago Cheese bagels. to DIE for. Works great as a sandwich, burger bun... or just toasted with cream cheese.... I recommend the chive and onion flavoured one. Their Cinnamon Crunch is pretty good too! Oh, and they make homeade cheese danish's too... yummy! And I guess its a good thing that Kym is walking... *chuckles* It means I'll be investing in a child's harness in the very near future tho, cuz there is NO WAY I'm letting her out of my sight in a store.
Anyway, that's where I've been and what I've been doing. *grin* Yay me! And now I'm going to bed. Oh, if anyone wants to see all the latest pics of the bratchild from hell, here is her personal photo album. There are 60 pics in it, which means its' full now, and that in the near future there will be a Kym 2 album available. *laffs*
