Heart attacks and cholesterol problems would be very rare. Frequent exercise and low fat diets would help prevent this.
ok, this one i am not so sure about, the diets of Goreans after having lived in many places, and have learned the list of foods available, those of the plains their basic diets would consist of bosk and such, bosk to my knowledge is a red meat, very high on cholesteral, vulo eggs, eggs are full of cholesteral, tarsk being a sort of swine, would be full of fat. now the only thing that i could see conteracting these would be their amount of exercise, and the advanced level of Gorean medicine, as with the cold, i really cant see how a virus that mutates as being able to have been abolished, as well as HepC, which i would think would be almost rampant with the amount of blood transfusions ive witnessed, and with the Plains peoplen ot living in the cleanest of conditions, well you see my point there. we arent filthy but, our environment isnt sterile either.
now, for canker and cold sores, those could happen from mouth injury and we do suffer from that alot -chuckles- cold sores often happen from when the lips crack from the cold, easy to prevent and take care of, but would happen, tho usually brought on by herpies, but not always,
pnumonia is not always viral, it is bacterial in some instances, something that cant be avoided, because we cant live without bacteria, we actually use a bit of that when we cook and eat, it is also used as a medicine common to Gor, the antibiotic, but getting a chill or a constant chill when damp or wet could bring it on, or even from bathing in either to cold of water in the winter, or from breathing in the steam of hot water when out in the cold, as in deep winter temps,
just because the medical technology of Gor is so advanced doesnt mean that these things have been eradicated, but that they have become managable and the time suffered lessened significantly, the reason they would rarely be heard of is also because of this, they would be minor things, taken care of before they could become wide spread, atleast thats my view on it.
but i agree with the comments on cancer, that would be something that with technology would of and could have been abolished, it isnt so much a disease, as it is a condition, it is something that can be avoided in most cases, but even with this there is question, what of skin cancer, we spend 90 percent of our days outside, in the sun, to my knowledge, there wasnt a sunscreen on Gor, or am i wrong?
my opinions on this could go on and on but i really dont feel like typing any more right now, but i think what i feel about illnesses has benn put down pretty well,
just wanted to add too, that the wagons people, the only ones on Gor did have a sort of psycologist, it was the haruspex, they were who the FW went to to speak to on different things, just wanted to add this, so they did have problems, just not like on earth

(( speaking about the health of soldiers of Ar in the Vosk Delta)) "Sickness and infection, too were rampant, hunger and exposure, sunstroke and dysentery were common." (Vagabonds of Gor pg. 149)
