The Bertolli Files
« on: August 10, 2008, 08:40:04 AM »
It's been a long and hot summer here in New York.  I've been busting my ass and coming up with nothing on my cases.  One little piece could make everything fall into place, but I haven't found it yet.

My annual trip to Boston for the 4th of July was wonderful as always.  I love to make the annual pilgrimmage to the Esplanade and watch Keith Lockhart conduct the annual Pops! concert.  This year, he looked just as cute as ever in a black tux and white shirt.

Elspeth hasn't been around much lately, so I haven't had any run ins with that husband of hers. I miss her.  I miss those silly yellow ribbons she loves to put in my hair.  I love El to pieces, but I can't figure out why of all the people in all the world, she picked Robert for her husband.  She could have anyone.  Ah well... I picked Tony and everyone said we wouldn't last either.

I have a feeling Gabriel is undercover again as he seems to have pulled a Fin Tuotola and is never around.

Spent last night at the Four, getting stood up and drinking strawberry daquiris.

14 September 2008

Rough week this past week.  Sept. 11 is always hard since it is the day my life changed for forever.  I went to Ground Zero for the ceremony and cried through the whole thing.   Strange for me because I never show my emotions in public.  I always have the hardass cop mask on in public and let everything else out in private.

Every year, it's like someone rips the scab off of the festering wound and the blood pours forth for everyone to see.

Life goes on, and my mourning is over... except for that one day a year when I can never forget.
