This Week's Gossip
We didn't fly to Minnesota this week for the NY Giants game since it was pretty meaningless, and besides I was barely back from visiting my parents in Pittsburgh. Our Giants now have home field advantage throughout the playoffs until the Super Bowl. The Vikings desperately needed the win to make the play offs and they managed to do it, 20-19, as the Giants rested some players. Our Giants get the first week off to rest and get ready. We'll be attending all the games here in New York, then traveling to Tampa Bay for the Super Bowl. GO GIANTS!!
As I said in last week's column, I let Gino Caruso take me home last Saturday night. He certainly lives up to the sexy appearance he makes behind that Four Seasons Supper Club bar and we had a lovely evening together. The bad news was Rachel was really ticked at me for missing our Sunday morning walk in Central Park. She was down there waiting at my reserved Sunday morning window table in the Palm Court.
Her greeting comment was, "I sure hope you enjoyed Gino!" I sort of laughed it off, and made a few positive comments regarding Gino, until it finally dawned on me that she wasn't happy. Was she jealous about me sleeping with Gino? After all, she was locked up with her rock star, Jon Bon Jovi.
I changed the subject to the upcoming trial on Monday. I plan to sit in the back of the courthouse with Bridget Martin, my CBS reporter buddy, and watch Alan Shore try and get Charles Stiles a not guilty verdict. Nelle Porter is quite sure she has a pretty solid case now with Gina Reynolds as a key witness to offset Charles' wife Carla's testimony that he was at home at the time of the murder. I understand that Carla is back at home after a little argument with Charles last week. She mentioned it at the Four Seasons last Saturday night. I'll wager Alan wants her back home so she looks like the happy wife.
I spent New Years Eve with Diego at the Four Seasons Supper Club party. We were joined by Rachel Tatellio Jon Bon Jovi, Tammi Hanlin, Eoin Ryan, Angela Black and Thomas Quinn for dinner and dancing. Rachel didn't seem to mind switching dance partners a few times and Jon is an excellent dancer. Why was she so upset over Gino?
Saturday I was over at Diego's watching the first round playoff games. There were two upsets with the Arizona Cardinals beating the Atlanta Falcons and the San Diego Chargers surprising the Indianapolis Colts. Diego said Kurt Warner beating rookie quarterback, Matt Ryan, didn't surprise him, but the Charger win was a real shocker.
Since the last game in San Diego wasn't over until almost midnight here on the east coast, I faxed this in and spent the night in Diego's bed, which is always quite pleasant.
