I was told this by my sister last night and told to not say anything until my niece, the one who got married to my nephew back in Sept, and since they had been dating off and on for the past 10 years or so, I have always considered her an adopted niece and on that day she officially became such to me... Well, I got the news last night that I am going to be a great aunt, I took the news with grace, which means I promptly burst into tears and had a hard time talking to my sister for a short time afterward... I do not know the date of the pending birth, but that's not important, just seeing the first announcement on Facebook by my nephew saying he was going to be a daddy just had me smiling ear to ear and the water works began again...
Just wanted to let my family know of this wonderful news, as some of you may have a better understanding why this means so much to me, and why I would love to be back in Cali when this kiddo is born... Though I am warning the parents now that I will be spoiling this child from the time he/she is born to the day I am given the pleasure of being a great-great aunt...
