The Packers are still division winners, Rodgers is still in the running for NFL MVP, and the Packers still have a chance of getting home field advantage in the playoffs. It was a very embarrassing loss, but also a humbling experience. Wouldn't you rather see the Pack lose like that in the regular season vs the playoffs? or the Super Bowl? Wait i take that back... in the Super Bowl, we'd actually be playing a good team. IF we win the Super Bowl, the regular season won't matter as much anymore. The Patriots went undefeated... then LOST the game that really mattered. Nobody really cares anymore that they were undefeated in the regular season

I feel you would have been better off in the longrun having lost earlier in the season than this. The Pack will be fine when all is said and done. They now control their own destiny. Had they lost earlier, that pressure to remain undefeated would have no longer existed. Sure... these guys are pros, but deep down inside that pressure can make or break a team. They become overly confident, or they become obsessed with victory, that they do more to defeat themselves than their opponent can really take credit for... which is what I think happened.

They have already proven themselves... they no longer have the undefeated pressure... as you say they have been humbled, but only to the point they will take nothing for granted now. They know they can be beaten and that sets them on an even keel with all the other teams. Now I think they can become more effective on the field and will likely avoid losing the mental edge that is needed to be champions.
