I had a friend in College, who was a soprano, and was a Performance Major. She was VERY good...I would accompany her on cello or piano.
She had a funny sense of humor. She found a recording of this woman, and played it onto a tape, and sent it back home, telling her parents that she had performed a recital.
She said that her mother called her, a few days later, and was tearful, and said..."Maybe you should transfer to the Conservatory at San Francisco."
