...We checked in, and I told the Owner that she was a 'newbie'. He looked her over, seeing that she had small hands, and said, "A 38 should be about what she can handle, and I agreed." She rented a 38, and a set of earmuffs, and bought 50 rounds, and we went out to the range. We stopped at the lists, and I showed her how to hold the revolver, using the simple 'thumbs in love' position. I loaded the weapon, and after we both put on earmuffs, I fired off a couple rounds, and then got her in position, and watched her finish.
She then loaded the weapon, and I went to the next spot and loaded my 357.
We finished, and after turning the 38 back, we went to have some beers. She sniffed, as we were driving away, and said..."We both really STINK!" I shrugged, and told her, "That is gunpowder...the men in the bar will either flock around us...or sit far away."
We had a couple beers, and chatted with a few men at the bar, and then left.
She never spoke of guns, again, at work. I don't know if she ever bought one, or ever fired one again...
Last story...a serious one...
