~laughing~
Since I didn't have enough to do already, right?
Okay, here's the scoop: My school's Christmas play, "It's A Wonderful Life," is T - 3 weeks from showtime. The director had to step back due to health issues and sent a desperate staff-wide e-mail asking for someone to step up and fill his shoes. Several people approached me with the suggestion that I take the reins, and I made a snap decision to just jump in! Basically, no one else wanted the job, I'm an English teacher with knowledge of theater, and I acted in the school plays. I'm not going to see four-six weeks of hard work go down the drain, and I love the stage, love set design, love the charge that I get from that many creative minds. I'm also seeing this as job security. I'm the new girl on the block, and I want to prove that I can take charge and kick ass for my school on short notice.
Plus, it's only for three weeks, and they're paying me. -grins-
Between coaching a Ladies Step Team and the play, my belly dancing and horseback riding have been knocked out of my schedule until Dec. 22nd, unless I can manage to squeeze them in on the weekends. However, I will be online -- just not until 9 p.m., since practice doesn't end until 8.
I will surely be offline on the nights of the performances --- 12/15 Friday, 12/16 Saturday, 12/18 Monday, and 12/19 Tuesday --- unless I'm amped up instead of exhausted and manage a late-nighter.
And then you can bet your sweet bottoms that I'll be crashing over Christmas break and pretty much vegetating in camp to avoid doing ANYTHING for ANYONE for ANY REASON! -laughing-
