CLEVELAND (AP) - A die-hard Cleveland Browns fan is facing a court date on charges he drove to the stadium on a couch.
Mike Meredith's sofa is motorized, and he must appear in Cleveland Municipal Court on Tuesday on charges of driving an unregistered vehicle and having expired plates. He has pleaded not guilty.
Meredith usually drives the "Go-Kouch," a converted riding mower, around a city parking lot where fans tailgate before games. He said he joked to officers before the Houston game Nov. 23 that he wanted to drive the "Go-Kouch" two blocks to the stadium and was waved on.
Several others officers along the route also gave him the go-ahead, but one officer stopped him and issued the citations.
