A woman's journey...
« on: September 13, 2009, 01:11:09 PM »
There was a link to this blog on my facebook this afternoon, from a friend who gave it this caption, "Anyone who is fearful of our healthcare industry (and I do mean industry) should read this. And anyone who isn't definitely should. Terrifying."

I just spent the last 15 minutes reading it over and shaking my head... It's about a journey a woman went through at a rural "trauma" hospital in Pennsylvania... I will post my thoughts about it after I can stop shaking and seeing red...

Btw, you need to scroll down a bit, as this is her blog that she uses for her job, and the title of her articles is what you see...

What strikes me about this.. is simple.  We have been at the mercy of a medical system that is all about the dollar sign... its not about the health care professionals oath.  the main thing being  Do No Harm.   maybe if it had not been all about the dollar signs.... my dads condition would not have been allowed to go so long. and doctors would not have said  "  you just need to stop over eating".    instead of just saying its depression or whatever... or even having maybe went the route of looking at having an mri done to check for things. instead of just denying it to him.  Now we get to deal with TIA's on a reoccuring basis.  We get to deal with Dr. Jekyll and MR Hyde over which he has NO control.  and this thing. that could have been surgically removed.. is now the size of a large lemon and has grown around the optic nerves and can't be touched.... and will eventually take my dad from me. Nothing like the neglect of our health care system that is SUPPOSED to HELP people failing because someone doesn't have the right kind of insurance or their insurance won't cover it until all the other crap has been done.  and I have seen Hospitals bully people.  I have personally been bullied by a doctor... but until people stand up and say NO we will NOT take this any more..until people look at whats going on and the truth of the matter of who's pockets are being lined .  Change will not take affect.
