Migration Log (Summer 2019)
« on: May 14, 2019, 05:26:52 PM »
Entry 1

Wagons are rolling encircling the camp prior to heading to our summering lands. It took all day and most of the night, but the ring of wagons has come full circle. Spend the rest of the night tending the stock and any repairs found to be needed, eat and relax as much as possible. We roll again as soon as possible.

The column continues its march at a steady pace. Generally speaking, all is going well thus far for the most part. The column will continue its trek South.

The column has made good time, but needs to rest. We have stopped for the day to tend the stock, make temporary repairs, and to get some food and rest. The column will move on again when the heat of the day has passed.

We are right on the border of our territory. Stay alert.

Remained in place during the day and moved on before sunset. Traveled through the night with only one stop to water the stock before pressing on. We are now well into the wilds running as quiet as possible. Stay alert. Will pause again when feasible.

Column stopped just after sunrise for the day. Tend the stock and see to the wagons. Eat well and get some rest. I do not expect the next leg of our journey to be an easy one.

Kataii encounter, casualties light. Slim recovered the Standard and will be awarded the copper horns of valor. Those of the 1st have made the Boy an honorary Member of the elite.

The column is on the move again, next stop... the River of Tears.

The column will halt when reaching it. Tend the stock and make ready to cross no matter what.

We can rest on the Southern side.

The River of Tears has been crossed with little to no additional casualties I am aware of. An abandoned Kataii wagon was checked and it's content salvaged for the Ubara, along with a Tuchuk girl that was captive.

The Wagons are stopped on the Southern side of the River. Ted the stock, the wagons, hot chow for all, and get some rest. Now we push on as soon as possible for Turia!

The column continues to roll making its way further South towards Turia. Good time is still being made and the temperatures are at last being felt to be much cooler and less humid. If the ground covered thus far is any indication of what is ahead, the grasses will be grand this season and the bosk should be well pleased.

Small Or skirmishes with Kataii enroute to Turia. No serious casualties taken on Tuchuk's part. We have arrived at Turia and are encamped outside our usual secondary gate. The Kataii are encamped at the next gate over.

The chit system is again in effect. Try to avoid bathing in the fountain, taking kailla into the baths, and for the Boys to try and refrain from lifting up FW robes to see if city Women actually do shave their legs. All slaves are gifted two silver, and those of Ubar's wagon and Council get five. If loans are needed, Sidona or the Ubara will tend to that at no interest if repaid before returning North. All Warriors will remain modestly armed during the stay. The traditional single quiva is not considered sufficient.

Stock up on supplies. The trade and barter system is welcomed by some of the Merchants, but not all. Try to enjoy your stay.

(NOTE... Enjoy a long holiday weekend. There will not be any organized rp until Tuesday night. If you wish to enter and free-form rp, feel free to, just maintain the general atmosphere and conditions of Turia this time of year with Kataii present. See you Tuesday night!!!!!)

We have left Turia on the last leg of your journey home. Thing are not well with Kataii, though that suits me just fine. I am positive we shall see them again very soon and many look forward to it.

The column made good time and traveled well into the night before stopping to tend to the stock and get some rest. We shall move on again when all are rested.

After a rest, the column moved again about midday on the last leg. The column will continue moving until dark, or until water, whichever comes first. Immediately water the stock and tend to them. We are so close now I wish none lost due to mistakes. Once that is done, check the wagons and then tend to your own needs.

The column stopped during the night in the area of cool springs to rest. The stick and wagons were tended, and the rest was greatly needed.

The column moved out again refreshed about mid morn and will continue onward. I expect to make it to our lands, or very close by the next stop.

Our migration is winding down and soon we will be encamped in our summering lands.

The column remained at the border river for a couple days recovering, and is now on the march once again.

With luck, next stop, summering lands.
