Current conditions
« on: September 27, 2005, 08:16:20 PM »
Due to current conditions, I am ordering everyone to see a healer for physicals.  Also, any spare clothing will be needed for added supplies to those that have suffered through this ordeal.  Water is to be taken from the river and boiled then stored.  Use everything sparingly.  Repairs to the smoke and butchers wagons are priority to preserve what food we have and for future meats.  That takes care of meat and water.  Medical is already in overdrive so simply comply with the healers and dont make trouble during this time.  The clan of bowyers will also be in overdrive to resupply what we can of arrows.  Hides will be important to mend and treat and preserve as well.

with all the rain and the dung mixed in with the mud, all slaves should be wearing their boots for health reasons....all new slaves would have been issued a pair of boots as part of their issue when they first arrived in Tuchuk.  If for some reason, you do not have your winter issue and boots, please see kadi or one of the trainers as soon as possible.

Also, the air is getting quite chilly, especially at night....too chilly to be running around naked all the time especially with the rain.  Please dress appropriately. This goes for privately owned slaves as well as camp slaves as I am sure your Owner would not want a sick slave.  For those that need a reminder, the winter clothing consists of:

fur-topped boots
leather pants and shirts (3 sets)
quilted jerkin
fur coat
gloves
hat with ear flaps

Please stop by the frieght wagons to pick up extra furs and blankets for the colder weather.

Hmm Guess I can dig out My Northern attire then, Thick fur lined cloak, with white fur hood, matching boots, and hand warmer.

forties to fifties at night... sometimes dipping a bit lower.

fifties to sixties during the day... sometime a bit warmer or colder.

thus far fair weather abounds.

So it would be safe to say that slaves usually still have to wear their boots, due to the cold ground, and that the leather trousers with a kalmak or leather shirt would be comfortable, weather-appropriate attire?

'Cause we're having weather between 50 and 70 degrees in Delaware right now, with fair breezes and plenty of sun, and I still can't image wearing a breechclout and a sleeveless, open-fronted vest with any degree of comfort...*LOL* Let alone go out barefoot for any length of time...

Just a reminder that the sun doesn't set until 11 pm est.  I don't think that post was ever moved over from the old board....unless that changed and no one told me....

Think that's odd.  Yesterday fishing, running the channel, saw a boy on the sandy shoreline, in shorts, in the water.  Ok, seems normal but the temp was low 50's and the water temp was mid 40's, and he was in it playing and fishing.

fifties at night... sometimes dipping a bit lower.

sixties to seventies during the day... sometime a bit warmer or colder.

thus far fair weather abounds with a few scattered showers occassionally.

the temps are begining to warm. the height of the daytime temps are reaching high 70's to low 80's now.

nights are averaging in the 60's.

winds are common and steady breezes blow across the area.

the heavy winter coats and such are now only an occassional thing.
