Started an IV on one of the survivors from the remaining Or, he was well dehydrated, but was able to find a vein by feeling for it... had to remove an arrow head from his right thigh, he was lucky another inch and it would have nicked his femoral artery, packed the wound and covered the wound... the other arrow wound was to his left shoulder blade, removed the arrow head, pack the wound, then covered it... he also had a slice to his right arm from right below the shoulder to just to the inside of his elbow, cleaned and stitched the wound shut... he was given valerian, that Boris got from Muse as she has been working away in her office while the two were tended to in the med wagon... the Outrider will be down for a hand at most, if no infection sets in... he's resting comfortably at the moment and was in good spirits... his family has been allowed to come in and see him...

Saw to the second wounded Outrider, an IV was started to stop him from getting more dehydrated... another dose of valerian was given to him once she ascertained that he didn't have a head injury.. checking him over, she saw that he had an arrow wound to his left shoulder area between his neck and shoulder, the arrowhead has been removed, probably by him, have cleaned and packed the wound, agrimony salve and covered... he also had several slices from either a sword or quiva to his right upper arm, left upper thigh, and across his chest... cleaning out the wounds, adding green powder and then agrimony salve, she covered and bandaged them, only one needed to be sutured, and that was the chest wound... 10 stitches in total... he is comfortable and has been told that he should be up and around in about a hand as well, maybe sooner, depended on if any infection kicks in and causes more problems, he thanked her and slipped off to sleep...

performed surgery on the man with the shattered femur, removing bone fragments and using pins to hold the bone.....pins were also hammered into his leg externally and a frame attached to keep the leg stable while the bones knit

the three wounded that were treated under the medical wagon were taken into the medical wagon to receive further care.

the first Outrider was treated for arrow wounds to his right shoulder, left knee and left abdominal side, none of the wounds needed to be taken care of surgically, he is now resting inside the medical wagon.

the second Outrider was taken care of by another healer (NPC), he received 13 sutures to his upper left arm, and his shoulder has been packed where a lucky arrow found it's way into his flesh and muscle, no major damage and he should be up and back on duty in the next hand at most.

the third Outrider was treated for an arrow wound to his right shoulderblade by myself, I cleaned out the wound and stitched it up. Another healer took care of the rest of his wounds, which was a deep slice to his right upper thigh possibly by a quiva, then another arrow wound to his back left calf, those have been taken care of, the wounds were either stitched or packed.

All three will be down at least for the next hand, barring no complications.

I have been relieved of duty for the day as ordered by another healer when I just about dropped from exhaustion.

surgery was performed on Teg's uncle. One of the arrows nicked his bowle.  It has been repaired. he is being given antibiotics to combat the infection....I have left orders he be given some of the precious valerian as needed.

He also has a drain that can be removed in two days

Last night, another patrol of Outriders came in with injuries. Four riders had arrow wounds, one serious. The worst case Kelsey took to surgery; the remaining three I treated in the shade of a nearby wagon. One was to the shoulder, fairly deep and just missed an artery; that one was treated first and the rider sent to the overflow wagon with assistance for 2-3 days of rest. The remaining two were both shallow strikes to extremities, and were cleaned and stitched up, the riders going unassisted to the overflow wagon for 24 hours of rest.
Numerous cases of dehydration and heat fatigue were treated by Myself, Kelsey, and the four slaves present, as well as by NPC healers. For the record the slaves present at the time were flame, chanz, sareem and ariella, all of whom were instrumental in treating so many dehydrated warriors.

Removed an arrow from the throat of one of the injuried Warriors, it entered the right side of his larnyx and came out to the right of his spine, with the help of Latisha, she and I got him stabilized, the arrow was removed carefully as to the location, an IV was started as his skin was wrinkled from the lack of water... he is now resting comfortably, and was being checked on every 4 ahns...

An ASKARI came into the med wagon nearly toppling me over when he stumbled into me, he had a barbed arrow that had been shot through his facial chains through the left side of the bridge of his nose and into his sinus cavity... both of his eyes were blackened and swollen shut... I didn't want to risk giving him any pain medication as the location of the barbed arrow wasn't fully known, he ended up unconscious after Boris gave him a nice right hook into the right side of his head after the ASKARI swung at me while I was trying to dig out the barbed arrow... the wound has been stitched, salved and bandaged... oh and I had orders to remove the straps holding him down after he regained consciousness...

Removed another barbed arrow from another ASKARI, this one was a bit more delicate to deal with as the arrow was in the space of the elbow mostly known as the "funny bone", I gave him a dose of valerian as the pain was extreme, started an IV and worked to remove the arrow, with careful work, I was able to remove the barbed arrow with minimal damage, stitched the inside of the wound with bosk gut, and then sutured the outside as well, then slathered it with agrimony salve, then bandaged it up, he was resting comfortably when I left him, leaving orders with one of the apprentice healers to have him taken to the second medical wagon...

The rest of the night I spent working on other injuried Outriders, Warriors and ASKARI...

I spent most of the night with several other healers in the surgical wagon doing what I could to save the injured men.  Freda and I worked on a man with a wicked gash across his midsection....He remains in critical condition after receiving a blood transfusion during the night....

Several other men did not make it and were bathed and cleaned up as much as possible before being cliamed by their families...

I remain on duty in the Med Wagon

All the Warriors, ASKARI and Outriders that were brought in 5 days ago were released back to duty this evening... only those left in the med wagon are those who are still healing from surgery and infections, though those should be released in the next day or two...

There are more people being brought in for dehydration, they have found out what it entails to get placed in the med wagon under such circumstances, and they are also quickly learning that drinking water is a lot more safe than being brought into my care and being stuck with large bore needles and the possiblity of having a nasal tube for a few days... the return of the same patients with the same complaint have dropped dramatically after their first trip... ~smiles sweetly~

did some healing mainly arrow wounds which she used pads to stop the bleeding and black pepper then bandaged them up, she did advise the wounded that she was only a trainie and that they should get a proper healer to look at the wounds she also put healing salve on the wounds

seems one of the Outriders lost a fight in the tavern over a slave... he sustained a deep laceration to his inside right forearm... this has been cleaned and sutured, salved and bandaged... with the help of Latisha, she was able to clean out his left empty eye socket... seems it was plucked out with a dagger, the same one that gave him the deep laceration... the eye socket has been packed and the eyelid closed, a pad was placed over his eye, and a bandage is holding it down for the time being... he was also hooked up to an IV to help replenish the loss of blood, along with a small dose of valerian to help with the pain of the loss of his eye...

flame received her brands last night and I wrapped them loosely with dry bandages.  Put her on light duty for two days, she's to keep the brands dry and clean, and advised her to stay away from dung for the two days.  Also advised her to kneel upon one knee, and extend the leg with the brands to her side so as not to put unneeded pressure on the brands caused by bending her leg.

after evaluating flame's brands, I lifted the restriction on kneeling.....the placement of the brands is such that it would not stretch the skin...the brands were cleaned and burn slave applied....re-bandaged for one more day....orders to keep it clean and light chores are still in effect
