~late post~

Tended to Hirodel's hand the last night of migration, it's healing fine, and he should have no more problems with it, since it's nearly a hand old.

Checked Salem's scars this evening.  They look to be healing just fine, but I suggested he wear a dust scarf while out on patrol to keep them clean.

kadi is currently on my porch on a glucose IV.  I also gave her a weak ginger tea last night to settle her stomach....there was still part of a splinter in her butt.  That has been removed, the small infection it caused drained.

she is restricted to my porch until she is eating again.

Shy came to me tonight with complaints of a migraine and fuzzy vision in her right eye.  After prodding her for information, she told me that she had been hit with one of Nic's tool boxes during migration as it fell on her.  She has a lump still on her head, and a bruise that looks to trail down her neck and onto her back.  it is already turning yellow and green, so there was no healing needed there.  I offered lavenia tea to help with the pain, and told her that there will be no herd for her for two days to give herself time to heal.  If she begins to suffer from another migraine, I told her that a healing slave can mix her up the lavenia tea.

Salem returned to the outter perimeter of the Main camp, and promptly fell unconscious.  He returned on foot, with a large gash to his gut on his right side, and other smaller non-threatening injuries..the gut wound however was made worse when Czar threw Salem over his shoulder to haul him to the medwagon.

NS applied pressure before I could get there, and black pepper was applied to slow the bleeding enough for it to be cleaned and stitched up with one inner layer, and one outer layer.  The other non-threatening injuries were cleaned, and honey salve applied along with bandages. Since he was out in the heat and sun for almost two days, he was given an i.v. to rehydrate him, and valerian was administered via Leticia to the i.v. for pain management.

The saline solution was stopped, as Salem has been rehydrated, once he awakens, he will be told to try some broth.  At this time, i.v. antibiotics are being administered to doubly make sure that infection does not occur.  sin checked the stitches while I watched to look for infection, and none was seen at this time.

Watched Salem all day, not much has changed.  His stitches were checked...hes still on saline solution and antibiotics in his i.v.

Also patched up NS after she came across the Kur.  The two Or with her were killed, she managed to escape with only a deep gash to her side, starting at the lower rib and moving down to just above her waist.  It was cleaned, agrimony/blue grass salve used..one layer of bosk gut stitching on the inside, and then another of silk on the outside.  She refused valerian.  She did manage to kill the Kur though, so yay!  No more threat from that.  She was told no fighting...or furring..heh.  She promised no furring, but couldn't guarantee the fighting part..I wasn't going to argue with her.

Salem popped a few stitches and started bleeding again.  I would love to make a proper post..but I was stuck beneath an overturned trough with Poppa and Raz sitting on it to keep me in (long story)  Shoko fixed the stitches, and I started to look for a blood donor considering the amount of blood Salem lost over the passed five days...and then I apparently promptly passed out at the counter (literally fell asleep at the computer).  Though.. Salem did eat some broth.

Well, unfortunately, the other wounds he had, the quiva in the thigh, the sleen claws on his back, the bruise to his throat, I dont know, they were bandaged up already.

Did emergency exploratory surgery since he was urinating blood.  Spleen is ok, wont die from that.  Kidney is not ruptured, so wont die from ruptured kidney.  It is however swollen with discoloration on it, signifying a contusion or build up of blood, perhaps the injury being inside from the falling off the kailla, the falling off the med wagon porch and the beating from abive mentioned attack the following day.  He was stitched up, confined to the med wagon, and not the porch but inside the med wagon, liquid diet for two days, tonight should be the last because didnt want him to eat so much as to swell his stomach and be stuffed only to pop the stitches.  Antibiotics to help the natural healing of the kidney and prevent any infection that might add complications.  When a healer looks at him and he stops urinating blood, should be another day after that that he can return to a light duty for a day.  And a day after that, he can move about of his own accord.  So, he will be down tonight, and if he stops urinating blood tomorrow, that will add 2 days.  If all goes well, he should be normal Sunday or Monday as long as a healer checks on him.  Otherwise, he is going to die.  Just cuz I said so.   ;D

ROTFLMTAO!!!

BTW... I just have to ask if anyone dropped a dime on him for moving out to the porch of the med wagon last night placing a great deal of stress upon the newly sutured area?

JDL

Would that not also add at least a days time to his recovery?

hrmmm...Thursday night he was on the porch, since I haven't been around, I'm not sure how he ended up there, so yeah, if he moved himself he just added time to his recovery.  When I popped in yesterday afternoon in ooc he had ordered a npc slave to bring him raw bosk meat....can't remember what he ordered to drink, so much for the liquid diet.....

Eeeyeah.  The man doesn't know how to follow Healers orders, however, he got an earful from Raz last night, and he seems to realize the viability of actually LISTENING.

I brought Virtue some Broth and made sure that he drank that instead of trying to eat anymore bosk meat.... and I too advised him to listen to the healers!

Mistress Shoko asked sin to see to Master Virtue's wounds, sin did so, she cleaned the thigh, belly and back wounds, recovered with antibiotic salve and re-bandaged them, she asked about the bloody urine which he still has some, sin told him that it was prolly from his moving around and he should be more careful to listen to the healers, sin told him he should continue on liquids until the bloodied urine was gone to keep himself flushed.

sin removed his leathers, explaining that should things happen they could hender a healer getting to his wounds..[evil glint in eyes] she put them out of reach and covered him with a linen, she changed his bed linen while she had him rolled to his side dealing with his back wounds.

sin ensured all soiled bandages were burned and the items she used were cleaned and replaced.
