**Report by Taryn**

This afternoon a patrol of Outriders, 2 Ors, who had just returned from what was supposed to be a full day's patrol of the territories, but had been caught up in a heavy cold downpour of rain, came in wet and with a chill down to their bones. As I was on duty, I took care of them. We are now down to almost no black wine, as it seems it's also been used since kadi made the packets. The Outriders are now back with their families, being watched for the night, and tomorrow I will check them over once more to see if there were any adverse effects from exposure, though I don't expect any.

**Report from Taryn**

Seems Leda was brought to the medical wagon for twisting her ankle in an unknown and unseen sleen hole that was lost in the snow. She was tended to by another, and was told to stay at the medical wagon until a healer could tend to her. When I was making my rounds tonight, I found Leda at her wagon, seems she had to check on her wagon, and had put herself in her wagon seat, with her foot exposed to the elements.

I had her carried to the medical wagon by my thrall george, who handed her to Boris who took her into the medical wagon and got her situated while I got ready to check on her. When I did, I did check her foot and toes, she got lucky and only had frostnip, if she had been outside any longer, it could have been a lot worse. Her feet and toes are wrapped in warm cloths, being changed out every 10-15 ehn with another set of warm damp cloths to replace the old ones. I also checked her ankle, and found that the swelling is bad enough that I am not able to determine how bad the sprain might be at this point of time. I have bandaged her ankle, then added packs of snow to the area that is swollen and bandaged it again loosely to hold the snow packs in place, though they will be removed in 15-20 ehn after application.

I have also told her to hold back on the willow bark, as the supply has been dwindling slowly during the last hand. She can have a cup of tea during the day or night, and if she needs it tonight, she can have a cup of willow bark tea, but that is it, until the supplies are brought back up to what they should be.

Leda is also confined to the wagon until either myself or another healer can check on her tomorrow, and see how her ankle is faring.

Also, I treated a young girl for frostnip or mild frostbite. I have instructed her mother on how to care for her daughter, and if anything else happens, to come and find me and I will come and tend to her daughter.

**Report by Taryn**

An old woman was brought to the medical wagon late this afternoon, the burns over her hands as well as her chest and face had brought up blisters and areas were blackened. As I went to her, I heard her breathing as soon as I got close, and when I listened to her lungs, I could tell she had inhaled not only the flames of the fire, but also a good amount of smoke. I quickly started an IV to help replenish her body with the fluids she was losing with each passing ihn, as her hands and arms were badly burned, I had no choice but to start the IV at the dorsal pedis vein located at her right foot. I was still able to get a larger bore needle into this location and fluids were quickly started. Knowing that in time she would be fighting for each breath and her pain was severe, I got a solution of feverfew, that I had made up into 10 vials for emergencies, after determining her weight, I got the amount of medication into the syringe, then diluted it even more, so when the effects hit, it wouldn't be as strong as if I had given her a full dose. She was able to understand what was going on around her, but she would feel as if the pain was far away. About 20 ehn after the injection of the diluted feverfew, she took her last breath and went on to the blue skies to watch over Tuchuk. I have sent george, my thrall, out to see if she has any family, if there is none found, then I will see to her pyre come the morning.

----Report by Mercilayne----

I was the first to reach the ASKARI and the Healer on the plains that had been stranded during migration.  All of them were suffering from severe frostbite as well as hypothermia and dehydration.  Unfortunately all but 4 ASKARI and the Healer were lost.  The Healer could no longer feel her toes and was suffering from frostbite on her hands as well.  I found the medical kit under the driver's seat of the wagon and laid a very very light coating of Agrimony/Blue Grass healing salve on their hands and feet to relieve the pain that they were in.  All said it worked well.  I did not put it on the Healer's feet, but instead had a thrall heat some water to a temperatur that was comfortable on bare skin, not too hot, and had the Healer submerge her feet into a bowl of it for approximately 25-30 ehns before taking them out.  It seemed to help some.

The medical kit from the wagon is intact and I have only used from it a little of the salve.  I have also brought the kit from under the seat of my own wagon to use for now, hopefully it will not be needed.

So far no Healer is avaible to take over care of the worst of the ASKARI and I will continue to do the best that I can.

Was rubbing Shylina's lower back to help her get over some mild nausea due to imagery when I hit a sore spot.  WHen she was in the Point butchering a bosk, she ran into a stall wall and received a splinter for her trouble.  By some miracle (a flip of the coin) it wasn't infected.  I pulled it free, cleaned the wound and bandaged it, letting her know to take baths for the next couple of days to make sure her good luck doesn't run out and it won't get infected.

Last night Terran brought in two outriders who seemed to have gotten a little too excited about some training maneuvers and things got out of hand... Dmitri took care of them, he washed, stitched a few of their cuts and kept an eye on them until they regained consciousness, which was caused by sleeper holds by Terran and another of his unit to subdue them...

I treated Terran for injuries sustained while trying to break up the clash of the two outriders in his unit.. His right arm had cuts from swords and quivas, a few needed to be stitched up, but the others were able to be just treated with honey... The wounds were washed and then treated.. His left hand was also injured, I am guessing someone's jaw was harder than he expected, and he ended up with swollen and bruised knuckles... The bruises had already begun to turn purple when I came to treat Terran, I did ask if he could move his fingers and when he tried, he was only able to move two of them, the rest it was too painful.. This doesn't mean that the bones are broken, but the trauma to the area may still be in shock from the hard object hit encountered...

I have asked Terran to take it easy for the next two days, and to come and see me if his hand begins to throb, or hurt more than it already does, even if he has taken some willow bark and the pain breaks through that, to come and see a healer as soon as possible... I will keep an eye on his hand, and when the swelling reduces, I will again check to see if I can feel any breaks, but with all the small bones in the hand, I might not be able to feel any, but will see what I can learn after the swelling lessens... I did wrap his hand with two mud packs that were soaked in cool water from one of the cold springs, the water was brought to the medical wagon in a basin, no mud was dipped into the cold springs for this treatment... I will check his hand again today to see if he needs another mud pack applied....

Cleaned, stitched and bandaged Terrans right shoulder where an axe took a bite out of him.  Four days light duty with the right arm.

**Report from Taryn Iona**

While doing Serinna's physical, I learned that she had twisted her knee, when she stepped wrong, a little while back when she was working in the outer circle wagons. When I was testing her knee reflexes, she experienced moderate pain. I then checked her knee with my fingers, not finding any deformities, but I did give her a pouch of willowbark, that would take care of the pain for the next two days, with her only taking 2 pieces a day...

I told her to see either Amber, Shoko or myself if the pain is still persisting after those two days, or if the pain levels increase, as well as taking it easy during this time.

Regarding Wapikes physical, due to a few collapsed lungs during training on his left side, his left lung has healed a bit tighter than normal.  This causes slight.. very slight discomfort when he breathes as his right lung expands further than his left.  It has not caused issues with normal physical activities during his duties, but it was suggested to him that during rest he breathe as deeply as possible to stretch the left lung out so that it may return to full capacity.

And Elder Woman of Tuchuk fell last night due to heat exhaustion.  It is a minor case, she was removed from the heat and placed in the shade, cooled down before she was given water.  She was fine a few ahns later but will no longer be walking during migration as I have seen to her riding one of my own mounts.  An apprentice healer was assigned to her to keep watch just in case.

Tended to NightStorm tonight, after she had a run in with one of her sleen. She acquired a 2 inch gash on her left arm that wasn't too deep, but I cleaned it out, applied agrimony salve and covered it with a bandage. She has been told to remove the bandage tomorrow night, clean the wound and bandage it again, and that it should be healed in 2 days time. Also explained to her that if redness and/or the area around the wound became warm to the touch that an infection might be setting in, and it would be a good idea to see a healer to remedy the situation.

Treated a new slave who was collared to camp this night, sage{MTC}, for a sprained ankle. Though it happened a bit ago, I did apply moss paste to her ankle to help lessen the swelling that was there, along with the bruising. I also wrapped it up to help stablize it and have given NightStorm a packet of willow bark for sage, who will be staying in NightStorm's wagon this night, to help her sleep and not end up waking up whenever her ankle pains her.

I will be checking on her ankle again tomorrow, have also given instructions that the moss paste can be removed tomorrow morning and to keep an eye on how tight the bandage is, also what signs to look for if it does get tight.

After returning to Camp, I spent most of my night and then day monitoring those left in DRAGONSLAIR including Terran's second Luong.  I ended up giving emergency surgery in the morning on Luong to help repair his intestine before he succumbed to sepsis.  He's heavily medicated now and sleeps most of the time.

After the Ubara and Merci went on a little race, several of the Ubara's OWN returned to the medical wagon with a few popped or pulled stitches and a monstrous headache.  I took care of Qori, pulling his stitches and then replacing them, Mercilayne took care of Volund by checking his stitches and then covering them in blue grass salve to help numb the irritated area, and offering willowbark for any additional pain he might be suffering.  Mongo refused pain killers, so when he fell asleep I had hush inject him with pain killer via a syringe to the buttocks to take care of that nasty headache.

Kabul, Adrastus, Yeren and Ameen were sent to the medical chamber in DRAGONSLAIR for check-ups.
Yeren and Ameen were seen to (by an STed Mercilayne) and released back out into the world with light duty for at least one more day.

Adrastus had his stitches over his right ribs checked and was told if all went well his stitches could be removed in three days, and he wasn't to do any kind of fighting until they were removed unless he was required to do so.

Kabul's stitches were removed and he was returned to active duty.  I also recommended an exercise that he could do to strengthen the right calf muscle that was injured when we settle into our summering lands.

Luong is doing well.  He is finally resting peacefully with none of the worrisome thrashing he was presenting last night.  I was worried we would have to restrain him to keep him from accidentally punching an innocent bystander.

Stitches removed and returned to active duty:

Mesugi: Minor sutured wounds on his arms and chest.  Gladius slice to his midsection.

Masukai: Minor injures. Deep laceration to his back.

Houlun: Arrow wounds to right pectoral and beneath the armpit of his right arm.

Suhe: Exit and entry wounds from an arrow to his right calf.

Volund: (I think) Gash to his side.

Chaghati: Through and through gladius thrust to his right bicep.

Quori: Is still restricted from duty due to tearing a few of his stitches just last night.  We will review his situation again in another day.
