I was going to exam Mongo, only to find out he had lost consciousness just outside of DRAGONSLAIR when he stood up too fast.  Volund shook him awake and I got him into the medchamber and gave him a shot of valerian to help with the headache he has had since he was concussed outside of Turia.  Unfortunately, when the pain began to fade, he stood right back up and went down again.  I had Volund move him back to the cot and I decided that in order for Mongo to heal properly, we were going to have to heavily sedate him... Well.. Volund suggested it first and I went with that instead of tying him to the cot.  When he woke up from his faint, I told him what I was going to do and immediately injected him.  He is so not going to be happy with me when he wakes up, but if he feels better afterwards, it is worth it.

Went to the Outer Wagons and learned of what transpired out there during the war.  Needless to say it was a disaster.  I am assigning three Healers from our team to be moved semi-permanently to the Outer Wagons until replacement Healers can be trained.  I am also re-assigning a Surgeon since they lost theirs.  The Outer Wagons now have a firmer base for duty rosters and schedules.

We will also be sending a Healer once a week to the Outer Wagons to check on them and make sure everything is alright.  This duty will rotate every week so the same person isn't going out there week after week.

I spoke with Gheeta - Buqa is having problems with his digestion after his bowel surgery.  Food was not sitting well with him, and what did sit well, came out as diarrhea shortly afterwards.  He was at wits end.  I made him some fish, rice, over easy eggs and gave him bread, dates and cheese along with a bottle of ramberry juice.  I will check in with him tomorrow to find out how that all settled with him.

I woke Mongo up this evening and he was ready to listen to Healer's orders about his concussion after I explained what was going on.  He knows he should not stand up too fast now, and if he is careful, he can return to duty in two days.

Buqa is doing well on his new diet.  He should begin to regain the weight he lost as he continues to eat foods that he needs to continue to remain healthy.

Luong is now on the same diet as Buqa and once he has been given time to heal a bit more he will be released from the medical chamber in DRAGONSLAIR.

Removed stitches from both Qori and Chagin and released them to duty.  The only two of Ubara's Own who are not released for full duty yet are Koke and Buqa.  We'll get them there, it will just take some time.

Cho of the First ASKARI Oralu approached me and asked that I consider separating his lips so he could eat and speak normally.  Cho was burned badly at The Point and when those burns healed, his lips sealed together.  I of course said I could help and we proceeded to the medical chamber in DRAGONSLAIR to attend to that.

I separated his lips along the natural seam as best as I could and then sewed each lip closed.

He also had a previous injury that I tended to.  It seems an arrowhead and broken shaft were under his skin and had been just left there.  Since he was out already for the lip surgery, I decided to make two incisions, pushing the arrowhead out of one, and pushing at the shaft through the other.  It was a success.  I stitched those up and placed agrimony/blue salve on the sutures and then bandaged him up.

Spoke with Luong about the War, hoping to help him acclimate to not being in it any longer.  Not sure if it worked.  Released him from the medical chamber as long as he takes it easy.  His stitches from his surgery and other wounds can be removed tomorrow should I not be the one who catches him.

Also released Koke to light duty, and he as well, has escaped the Medical Chamber.

Tended to Boi's right should where he had receive a through and through lance wound.  He had tried to deal with it himself by stuffing the wound with honey.  I cleaned all of that out and then stitched him up, despite him trying to bribe me to just bandage him and let him go.

Also tended to another Warrior who wishes to remain anonymous on the duty log.  He has been released to full duty after removing stitches from wounds he received.

-scribbles- Oops.  Performed physicals for the Ubar, Ubara, Sidona and Salem last night.

Tonight I removed Luong's sutures and released him to full duty to his Commander.

Also gave Raziel his physical and discussed possibilities to help our Warriors cope with the mental trauma of War.

Healers Note: If you come across a Warrior who is having "flashbacks" clear the area of innocent passersby and be sure that no one touches or startles the Warrior.  These Men are experiencing the War all over again in their minds and will react on instinct to any perceived threat.  It helps to remind them of who you are, and where they are.

-mutters-

performed a physical on chanz two nights ago.  She'll need slave wine as I couldn't find any records that it has been given to her recently.

-adds this in while she has it fresh in her mind-

Checked on Salem's scars, as he will be going through this process for a few more days at least, I will be checking on him at the end of each addition and until they fully heal. But 20 ahns after the initial slicing and placing of the dung and dye, things look and feel as they should. He definitely will have sore cheeks in the coming days and he has been instructed to seek me out if anything feels off.

Tended to a Boy who apparently had insulted someone's decorating tastes in their wagon - he was thrown from the wagon and learned how to fly.  Not well.  He landed on his head and has a mild concussion.  He is in the Medwagon currently, as we are as yet unaware of where his parents are.

Also tended to Roan's forearms where three diagonal but shallow slices were made down each during her grieving.  I cleaned them up, put honey salve on them and then bandaged them up.

I had Kalana brought to the medwagon via stretcher as well.  She had a huge faux pas, ran her mouth and then spit at Raziel, so he clocked her one with his hammer and smashed her jaw.  I haven't been able to see her yet to determine whether it is shattered or simply broken, either way she is being held unconscious until I can get to her.

I wired Kalana's jaw today after making a surgical incision to realign her right mandible where it had fractured.  I removed bone chips that had splintered from the bone before wiring.  Once I had wired the bottom teeth and top teeth together with two iron bars and thin wire, I sutured the incision closed with dissolvable bosk gut.  I then wired the left side of her mouth closed as well.  She is on i.v. fluids and antibiotics until the tissue collar can form to prevent infection.  Once the i.v. is removed she can be on a liquid diet through a hollowed reed.

Due to the amount of fracturing and bone chips I found, I recommend that her jaw remain wired shut for at least two hands.  This will allow plenty of time for the tissue collar to form and help heal the mandible.  Even with the stabilization serums, this was a nasty fracture that was difficult to realign and she will be very lucky indeed if she can eat and talk properly after the wires are removed.

After Raziel flipped his lid twenty warriors were escorted to the medwagon and take care of.  Most had bumps and bruises, a couple of fractured arms and some stitches required (Handled by Shoko, Izee and an NPC Taryn)

Raziel on the other hand suffered a mild concussion, a laceration to the back of his head, severe bruising to his ribs and abdomen, a fractured rib and a broken nose.

The laceration to the back of his head was treated with honey salve.
The contusions to his torso were treated with linament.
His ribs were wrapped once I had realigned his rib.
Izee set his nasal bone and stuffed his nostrils full of cotton and splinted it all.

I also washed and prepared one of the Orphans for his pyre.  There was a disagreement between the Boy and Son of Yule resulting in the Boy's death.  bauble assisted despite definitely not really wanting to be there.  I will ask someone from the Carpenters to build a cart so that he may have his pyre tomorrow night.

There were several minor concussions and other various minor injuries treated among the twenty men it took to subdue Raziel.

Almost all of them should be released from the med wagon into the care of their families... but with the amount of strains and sore muscles its advised that fixing the clan wagon should wait a few days.

One warrior recieved three stiches to keep a vicious bite wound closed, it has been cleaned and wrapped but like any other bite he has been instructed to come back often to have his bandage changed, as infection is common in animal bites- we should take no less precautions because its a human bite.

The only warrior not released is the one who had a near miss with castration, luckily he did not have anything missing but for now is still being treated with cold compresses, and is being checked often for any complications.

Dochin took several Young out into the territories and raided a caravan, bringing back no survivors from the caravan.

There were casualties of the Young and Roan prepared them for a pyre.

One Young Man received an arrow to the ribs.  I cut it out and pulled it free, careful not to nick any arteries or the ribs themselves.  Sprinkled green powder and stitched him up.

Another Young Man will suffer the loss of his eye when I remove it in a surgical procedure.  The wound slashed from his forehead through the eye and onto the cheek.  The eye cannot be saved.

Taryn, Gheeta and other NPC Healers took care of the rest while I went to perform the enucleation.

Shoko took up the role of triage.

A few Warriors got in a fight with the Ubar.  They lost.  I personally treated a Warrior who was nearly scalped by a wooden sword and had his ankle broken by the same sword.

CLeaned the nearly scalped flap of flesh with sterile water and sprinkled green powder beneath to fight infection before suturing the laceration (after shaving his hair near the laceration).  Covered the sutures in agrimony/blue grass and then bandaged his head.

Set his ankle and splinted it.

Gave him valerian for pain and confined him to the medwagon for a day.  In six more days, we will evaluate his ankle to see if he may return to duty.

Gheeta also treated a Warrior for a disrupted trachea due to a shield to the throat, testicular trauma from that very same shield and a concussion.

Shoko and Taryn will post their own records of treatments given.
