WE HAVE A NEW CAT!!!!!! I had been emailing with a couple shelters that foster out their pets and the one lady told me that several of her adoptable cats were currently at our local petsmart... so today we went out to take a look, and fell in love wit Sidney. Apparently she's usually quite shy and reserved, but within minutes she was in our arms and rolling onto her back to let us scratch her belly. Needless to say, we fell in love and brought her home. We had the big carrier ready in case Pala was going to be grouchy, but we won';t need it. he's... leery... but more curious than anything. he's following her around everywhere and watching her like a hawk. Sidney, on the other hand, is snooping everywhere checking out her new home and very much looking like she's enjoying herself. We have had 3 hisses, no growls, and no swipes at each other. I'd say this is a success! Just shows how lonely Pala really has been. They're still keeping about 3 feet from each other, but that will change I'm sure. Sidney is about 1 1/2. Someone dropped her off at Petra's shelter when they were unable to locate the local SPCA. The girl is AGILE!!!! *laffs* and she's only 6lbs... which is a change from Pala's 11lbs... no he's not fat... he's just a really big cat.. our vet is forever amazed at how healthy and LONG and TALL he is! *LOL* Anway...
