ariella{*Arlon*} will be offline for a week starting 4/25

Hello family, the typist behind ariella is going on a once in a lifetime trip to a bird watching festival in Arizona, where i have the opportunity to see a California Condor (no smart comments, please, Master Redbeard)  (non bird watchers, i guess you just won't know how amazing that is, afer they were saved from the brink of extinction, and never in my life did i think i would ever get the chance to see one, and still might not, but there are no guarantees in life.) It will be an action packed week of field trips that start at the ass crack of dawn, so needless to say, getting online and being up so late it gets early will not work that week.

This trip is a much deserved vacation, something just for me, after being a stay at home mom for the past three years, i was going a bit stir crazy a couple weeks back there, as some of you know, as i accidentally posted something to the room that was meant to be a pm.  :-\

I will stay in touch with my Master and some people on my IM lists, but i need this trip so bad, i just had to let all of Y/you know that i would be back, and that i didn’t fall off the face of the planet, might even pop in ooc to tell you all how much fun i'm having!

Although I'm not a bird-watcher, I can understand having a much-loved hobby which almost no one understands.  I'm a horse-crazy chick in a day and age when comparatively few desire to touch a horse, let alone ride one.  You rock it out, girl -- I'm glad you're getting to do something for YOU.  Not only does such a thing rejuvenate the body, it refreshes the mind and the spirit.

We'll be here when you return.  Good luck with the Condor sighting!  (Hell, if I had a chance to see a Przewalski's horse, I'd jump on it!)

Living in the land of sun, sand, and Thassa breezes, where the only rule is common sense.  What's not to love?

i have actually seen one, i used to be a docent at the Smithsonian National Zoo in DC, and in addition to the zoo, there is another faciltiy in rural Virginia, the Conservation Research Center, that has many acres of land and breeds rare animals, and it not open to the public, and i had the opportunity to tour there. i guess i have seen and done a lot of things, as life is all about experiences, as you never get another chance at a lot of things. i have come to understand that you regret the things you did not do far more than those you have done. That is why i am taking this trip, rather than going to a big music fetstival with a lot of bands that i love, because at the end of the concert, i will be left with a sunburn, ringing ears, a hangover perhaps, but the trip will be forever imprinted on my memory, of touring the Grand Canyon ,seeing birds i have never seen before. Anyhow, i hope you get to see one some day. i guess in captivity does not count as much as in the wild in it's native habitiat.
