I'm not sure if any or many of you are familiar with the free program you can download, its called Google Earth. I think it is so cool. It does satellite imagery and mapping. One thing that I tried, was just entering the name of the town that I live in. I was able to to scroll in all directions, seeing things I'd never seen before. Then, at the top right of the screen, there was a little scale thing and if ya click on the very right hand one, it will "level" out the image making it look like as if you were standing right there. As you move along, its like flying over the terrain. I thought it was fun.
