On a regular basis WEBMAZE® gets requests to add rooms, change rooms and/or ideas for projects to make existing rooms more attractive to those who live there. The inflow of ideas is always hard to keep up with and for this reason we have set up a few simple steps to help you help us. Our staff will do all they can to help you but you'll understand that we have to set a few ground rules to avoid chaos and wasted time and effort.
Creating a new room seems simple enough if you don't bother to think of what it entails in terms of time and cost to WEBMAZE® and WEBMAZE® staff. Truth is it needs careful thinking and planning if it is to be viable.
Getting started
If you think you have a concept that is original and are
willing to take on the monster task of building a chatroom, we ask that you first take the
time to do a few things; First, talk about it... throw the idea around in your usual place
of chat and gather comments and ideas that might be helpful. Most rooms are born of
a small group of people with a common interest. Find these people and get together.
When you feel you have a good draft of of what this room will look like, what it
will entail in terms of layout and guidelines, what section it would best fit in etc, get
in touch with us.
Who to contact
Once you've put together the above mentioned draft,
private message all prepared documents to the Staff Coordinator via our message board. (You must be registered on the forums to do this.)
What happens next
The Staff Coordinator will review the draft and look at the validity of the
request in terms of WEBMAZE® philosophy, need and viability. A meeting will be set up
with you and your group in order to clarify a few things, answer your questions as to what
comes next, establish a plan of action and make finishing touches to the draft.
If the room idea has been accepted, you will
be asked to produce the various elements required before a room is opened if those were
not part of the initial package (intro text, website, picture for the door, list of
pulldowns etc...). You will be directed to the appropriate resource for each of
these various items and of course receive any technical help you require to accomplish
this task. such as pictures or pulldowns etc...
Finishing touches
You will need to provide the following so that our staff may set up the new room properly. The text you wish to appear on your entrance, room pulldowns you wish to include, your rooms website address,
a short one sentance description you wish to appear on your room message board. You will also wish to include the picture you wish to use on your room entrance along with our WEBMAZE® copyright statement sent to the Staff Coordinator for loading and the room is ready
for its big moment. You will then be asked to set a date and time of opening.
At this time you might want to set up an announcement for the WEBMAZE® events calendar, forum news, and a banner to be posted in the banner rotation (Banners must also be submitted with the WEBMAZE® copyright statement), a post for the message board, special
invitations by email, whichever tools you choose to let the world know of the birth of this baby.

Gor room requirements
Chatrooms intended for the Gor section should also read the additional information relating to Gor room applications.
Room moderators
WEBMAZE® staff includes several Staff Coordinators. Each is responsible for a set group of room sections and coordinates staff appointments,
training and support. Requests for moderator status should be sent directly to the Staff Coordinator for your section,
As a rule, the Staff Coordinator will spend some time in a new room to get acquainted with the regs and monitor
room growth and activity. They also use this time to observe attitudes, reaction to
conflict and peacemaking abilities of the various chatters in the room. When a room
has established a core of regulars, the Staff Coordinator will consider applications for room
moderators on the basis of their observations and a number of criteria (such as
availability) and recommend appointments. In the mean time please know that all of
WEBMAZE® staff nd moderators will answer your calls for help in handling any problem in the room and do
not hesitate to call.
Just a note
NO you do NOT OWN the room. WEBMAZE® owns all rooms on this site and
they remain subject to WEBMAZE® rules, guidelines and WEBMAZE® staff monitoring. The
fact that WEBMAZE® has chosen to offer you a place to realize your idea gives you no more
right to use the room as your personal "reserved" club than any other member has
in any other room. It is not a private room... You will receive support in
implementing the guidelines of expected behavior but you will be expected to demonstrate
tolerance and a willingness to educate newcomers should this be necessary. As senior
staff reviews those guidelines as part of the initial package and makes necessary changes
at that moment, you can be certain that they ARE in tune with WEBMAZE® philosophy and this
clears up any confusion as to whether or not the room guidelines will receive staff
support. If you keep in mind that when we open a new room, its viability is
directly related to its ability to draw and retain premium members, (within reason of course, no
one wants a disruptive player in their group) you should do fine ~s~.
As Your Room Grows
WEBMAZE® had provided some benefits available for your room as the number of premium members increases. Please review the description of these benefits.
